Common indications:
– intraarticular fractures of lower leg, and upper leg (sometimes on upper limb too)
– open and closed fractures,
– nonunion, malunion, pseudoarthrosis,
– fractures associated with severe burns,
– arthrodesis,
– fractures associated with planned plastic and reconstructive procedures.
NOTE:
Mitkovic hybrid external fixator for lower leg is applied using Schanz pins of 6 mm and/or 6/5 mm. The system most commonly includes the Schanz pins of 120 mm in length. Other lengths (110–300 mm) are also available, and custom lengths can be manufactured upon request.
For half-ring sizes 3/5 (Ø150/Ø120, Ø180/Ø150, and Ø210/Ø180 mm), 2 mm Kirschner wires (Ø2 × L = 250 mm) are used. Other half-ring sizes can also be manufactured upon special request.
