Common indications:
– trochanteric and subtrochanteric fractures,
– open and closed fractures,
– nonunion, malunion, pseudoarthrosis,
– fractures associated with severe burns,
– arthrodesis,
– fractures associated with planned plastic and reconstructive procedures.
NOTE:
Mitkovic external fixator for trochanteric region is applied using Schanz pins and Steinmann pins of 6 mm.
The system most commonly includes the Schanz pins of 150 mm and Steinmann pins of 250 mm in length.
Other lengths (110–300 mm) are also available, and custom lengths can be manufactured upon request.
